THE PROSPERING SOUL
3 John 1:2
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
Prosper: to become very successful usually by making a lot of money : to become very active, healthy, or strong.(From: merriam-webster.com) What does “Prospering” look like to you and in your life? Is it working towards being successful and having lots of money and possessions, or maybe it is having lots of influence, power and control, or maybe it is to simply be as healthy and in the best shape that you can be. How about being famous and having everyone like and adore you for what you are doing and who you are? There could be many aspects to how you want to and are prospering, and maybe you have set goals for yourself and are striving to meet those goals or maybe you still need to set those goals. At any rate, if you are going to prosper, you need to set goals and make a plan to reach them.
For example: If you want to lose weight and get in shape you need to set the goals you want to reach and then make a plan to be able to reach that goal. You need to come up with a diet and exercise plan that works for you. And that goes for anything you want to prosper at, but you need to make sure you keep a proper balance because if you don't, you may be able to reach your goal but you will not be able to stay there and maintain it and you will go right back to where you started. You need to actually make a lifestyle change and then when you reach the goal you set , you will be able to stay there.
How about setting that goal for your soul to prosper? You need to set a goal, set a plan and work to reach that goal. To start your plan there is one major component you will need and that is your Savior Jesus Christ, because without Him, you will not be able to maintain any prosperity in your soul. You will not have the strength and resolve on your own because this is a hard cruel world we live in. Once you know Jesus as your Savior you have started your journey and He will be with you every step of the way. Does that mean that the journey will be easy? No, it will not be easy by any means, but with Jesus by your side, He will help give you strength and everything you need to prosper. And when you get into your Fathers word and seek and do His will you will be so blessed and you will know that you are reaching your goal and prospering because it is such a joy to serve your Father, and the best thing is you will be able to maintain it. As long as you do not rely on yourself like the world tells you to and give it all to your Father, you are golden!
So set that goal and set the plan and take the steps to start down the path and do not stray from it and you will prosper in all things, be in good health and you will have a “Prospering Soul!”
Have a Blessed Day!
