Can I buy $10 worth of faith please? I realized yesterday that I could believe God for some great, big things in my life but not trust God with the little things. They seem to get looked over but in a sense show the real condition of my faith, hope, and love. Something as small as a $10 bus ticket that I debated on buying—depending on whether or not I would have somewhere to stay for two nights until my apartment is ready to move in. (The apartment is in a state where I have friends who probably wouldn't mind me staying with them). I went back-and-forth about the ticket and ultimately ended up saying, “Oh, I'll just wait until I have somewhere to stay before buying the ticket.” This is an incredibly small matter to what I’ve believed God for in these past days that illuminates a deeper issue with faith.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

I want to encourage everyone to start acknowledging God's sovereignty and love in everything. Let's become cognizant of His presence, involvement and ability in even the small things. Let's increase our faith to include those things that are so small that we seem to overlook. There are always lessons to be learned around us. Let's slow down enough to recognize the huge lessons being taught in the little details of our lives. Let's not only trust God for the impossible but for the possible—that we seem to think we have covered. A lot of times we take on things that God never told us to worry about. He says in Matthew 6:25, do not worry about what you will eat, drink or wear. If He feeds the birds and clothes the lilies of the field, won't He do as much for us—His children whom He loves so much? Psalms 55:22 encourages us to cast our cares on the Lord. For He shall sustain us. He will not let the righteous be moved. How comforting is that?

Last week, I actually put the scripture as the desktop background on my computer and it was there right on time. Each time I began to worry even the slightest bit and opened my computer—forgetting it was there—it gave me an encouraging nudge. Let's keep the Word before us. Romans 10:17 reads, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭NKJV: http://bible.com/114/rom.10.17.nkjv). So let's start acting in faith even in the smallest details and decisions of our everyday lives. Jesus told the disciples, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting,” (Matthew‬ ‭17:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬: http://bible.com/114/mat.17.20-21.nkjv). Let’s begin to access the power we have through Jesus Christ through prayer and His Word.” He’s listening and waiting to hear from us!
