Psalm 91 NASB
For the Christian, life is a raging battle between evil and good. Christ has won the war, but a defiant Lucifer rages onward towards an unconquerable goal. A goal in which Christ has taken the victory. Praise be the name of the Lord forever.
In all this pandemonium, our Lord has a designed plan and a road, paved by His will, for our success according to His provisions and His riches. He is the Author of life and the Sustainer of it. My life is for nothing, if He hasn't already breathed if for me.
Psalm 91 is deep. I believe that it was written to us, His redeemed, like a love letter of promise to weary, Christian souls. Though the battle is all around us, it is the rest of this chapter that is soul restoring that we may rise to fight again. (Psalm 91:4 NASB) "He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark." Death has lost its sting, then fear is consumed during the restful slumber that Psalm 91 ensures His people.
If you are worn out from the endless issues of life and all of hell is standing on your doorstep, rest under the pinions of Christ. Sleep well in Him to rise to fight another day.
