Proverbs 31:10-31 KJV
For those men who are searching for a woman don’t give into cheap imitations. If she doesn't love her Lord, then seek greener pastures. But, when you have found a God fearing lady you have unearthed a priceless diamond in the rough. Growing together under the tutelage of His word and learning from the pitfalls and successes in marriage cuts the facets. Christ polishes the stone and sets a man and a woman in the ring of life together.
But, you may ask how a man is to cherish and esteem his wife? The answer to this question is found at the end of the book of Proverbs in chapter 31 verses 10 - 31. I don’t hear pastors teach on this chapter, in fact, I have never hear it preached, for the sum of my years, on this Earth, from any pulpit.
Verse 10 isn’t giving the price of a godly woman that she can be bought, but is stating that her worth is invaluable. Her love is priceless, when God inspired and directed, cannot be naturally derived from secular life. Woe to the man who gives her up for “lying vanities”(Jonah 2:8 KJV) and looks for another cut-rate discount whose heart is buried in the affairs of this world. Verse 30 “Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”
Men, success in loving and growing a marriage or relationship is to listen to her, and to care for her needs, while keeping Christ at the center of your relationship. Living without Him would be like chipping away at the foundation stones that supports the walls. Soon the foundation gives way and the walls cracks. The walls falls away from each other, and then the structure is no more. Never forget that her desire and respect grows for you, on the nourishment of your encouragement towards her, and the relationship she sees you have with your Lord.
