A few months ago after the Live at 5 evening service, people were looking to the east to watch the red moon of a lunar eclipse rise above the mountains. I looked the other way and saw this. Too often in life we just follow what others are doing and don’t take time to look around and see what else God has for us.

Wow! Praise God He had your eyes focused on Him. What struck me most about your photograph was the Cross standing alone-how Jesus Christ wrought salvation in obedience to His Father’s will…alone. And how often we too will find ourselves standing alone-as so many have chosen to look the other way. Many falling from the faith and away from their First Love. Enormously heartbreaking. Yet I pray for their restoration anyway. Your photo also brought the following Scripture to mind.
2 Timothy 4:16-17
At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me:I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear:and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion
How encouraging is it to know that we aren’t alone! Not only is the Lord standing with us, He has also strengthened us to run the race He has specifically chosen to set before us-to run and ultimately finish the course.
