"You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible" (Matthew 17:20-21). That's how Jesus replied to His disciples when they asked Him why they couldn't drive out the demon from a boy who's suffering greatly with seizures. The disciples' faith are still weak at that time that it prevented the power of God to take over and manifest to a sick child.

"Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours."-Mark 11:22-24

It's easy for us to say that we have faith and we trust God but how sure are we? Jesus said to have faith, our hearts should be free of any traces of doubt that the moment we pray for something, we believe that it will truly happen. He added that we can pray for anything and if we believe that we have received them, it will certainly be given to us" (Mark 11:22-24). But most of the time our doubts, fears and even pride keeps us from witnessing God's glory. In the midst of our struggles and challenges we tend to take control of everything instead of relying on God's power.

A young man was running late on his way to church when suddenly the rain fell down. He found himself under a bus stop shelter while praying for the rain to stop. He even reminded God that he's going to mass and He definitely doesn't want him to be late, as if God doesn't know that. He challenged God and so therefore God challenged him as well. No matter how hard he prayed, the rain never stopped. Then suddenly he realized something, something that's very obvious from the moment he started praying. God whispered to him, "My child why would I stop the rain when you are under shelter?" Then the very moment he stepped out of the bus shelter, the rain miraculously stopped while he walked to the church. As he went inside the church, the rain started to fall again.

In this real life scenario, we can see ourselves from this young man where in times of adversities we asked help from God and when we don't get the answer right away, we questioned, challenged and even blamed God. But the truth is God is always more than willing to help us. All along, He is just waiting for us to show our genuine faith. But most of the time in the midst of our helplessness, we are covering ourselves with fears and doubts which preventing God's power to go through. We are afraid to go out from our comfort zone because we wanted to take control of the situation rather than entrust it to the One who has the supreme power and infinite mercy. But once we let go and face our problem squarely armored with faith and trust in God, it won't take much time for us to see the hands of God working on whatever circumstances we are facing. Therefore, in every storm you are facing now or you might face in the future, do not be afraid to take the first step to face the heavy rain and strong wind of life. Just let GO and let GOD amaze you of His wondrous deeds!
