Write your plans in pencil - give the eraser to God,
For it's impossible to know what
lies ahead.
Your plans may be to head out West,
Yet you end up going to the East instead.

It's always wise to have an idea
Of what you want to do,
Yet it's even wiser to acknowledge
God may modify those plans for you.

The best way to handle your planning
Is to share your goals with Him.
Then if things don't occur as you'd hoped,
Your dreams and hopes need not dim.

For God has your best interests at heart,
Though you may at some point disagree,
But when you look back on those changes,
His wise leading you're able to see.

So make your lists, goals and agendas,
Realizing you might change your direction,
But if you've shared those plans with God,
You know what happens is the right correction.
