I describe a friend of mine as my safe space. I can tell him anything and be okay. He gives me the best hugs too. My safe space is usually reserved for my really tight inner circle of women friends unless the Holy Spirit directs me to be transparent. In pondering this, I am reminded that the Lord is our ultimate safe space. He is our refuge and strong tower. We can tell Him anything, we should tell Him everything. He is our friend that's closer than a brother. He is faithful, loyal and true. We can trust Him and let go of all we have bottled up inside of us. We do not have to be ashamed of our past or present. He welcomes our honest hearts with open arms. The Lord is our safe space because He knows us better that we know ourselves. He is our safe space because He is the safest of them all.

In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge;Let me never be ashamed.
