I sometimes reflect on how far Iv come in knowing who I am in Christ. If we do not ponder on who we are in Christ, if we do not remember what Jesus has done for us, there is a tendency for backsliding into the ways of the world.

Freed by the blood of The Lamb

The bible passage of today tells us; we have been set free not by gold or silver but by the precious blood of the lamb. The ultimate sacrifice has been paid for us. We have been given a new life, a clean slate, cleansed without any spot or blemish. Will we then remain in this state or go back to our filth?

I recently attended a fashion event with a close friend of mine. I wouldn't opt to go for such but for some reason or the other I found myself there (We had an agreement to spend only an hour).
Although many things went through my head, it was undeniable how lost people are in the world, pretence and vain glory, the craving for relevance by regular attendance of social gatherings, the yearning to be approved by others...
"What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul"?
P.
My brothers and sisters, though it may look rosy for many, there is nothing like the peace and joy of The Lord. There is nothing that can compete with salvation. Knowing that at the end of the very short stay on earth, we will go on to live forever in the presence of God; the only one whose approval we need.
Let absolutely nothing make us forget who we are and what Jesus has done for us, laying his life and sending the Holy Spirit to give us life; True Life.

Psalm of the week: Psalm 99
Prayer of the week: God of power and love, do not allow us to give up striving after heavens but grant us inspiration at all times. Amen.

God bless you
