Psalm 37:23
Psalm 37:23. "The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives."
Recently a friend and I got talking about the large pine trees in her front yard. They were randomly scattered across the lawn and over time had grown very large. For years they provided a beautiful backdrop for family events and pictures.
One day an aerial photographer flew by in his aircraft and took a picture of the property. Seeing the front yard from the photographer's vantage point gave a completely different perspective. The trees weren’t randomly planted. The landscaper who set them in the soil had a plan. Though unseen from the ground, the picture from above showed that the pines formed a semicircle that surrounded the house providing protection from strong winds and snows.
Often it feels like our lives are full of random events - some good and others difficult. It is easy to feel we are victims of fate, but this is not true. What we can't see is that God directs our every step and doesn’t miss a detail. The blessings and trials are perfectly planned to grow our trust in Him.
Someday we will look back and see the aerial view. The seemingly incidental events that created our lives were actually planned by our Creator. So don't try to figure out everything that happens - just live life day by day trusting the One who delights in every detail.

Very true. I think of us as puppets in God’s play. The end is perfect!

Hallelujah! Oh, so true, our lives are not random…If we look at Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We will then come to understand that God had a plan from the beginning of time for our lives.
