A watercolor done on canvas, 20″ x 16″, of a Franciscan monk in Bethany, Israel. I loved his countenance. He had a smile and a sense of peace that radiated from his face. In a land that has not known peace since the Garden of Eden, I felt that his way of life was giving him that “peace that passeth all understanding.”
