If God had not chosen, none would be saved. That is the plain fact of it. Those who go about loudly tooting their horns about accepting Christ and finding Him have it all wrong; it is not about us at all. Yes, He does want ALL to know Him, but it does not say anywhere that all will know Him. Otherwise, what would there be a need for a place of torment for the lost? It is a fact that not all will be saved. But for those He has chosen, before the world was ever founded, they are sanctified by the Spirit and belief in the truth as proclaimed by Him through the apostle Paul. And by this we obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
