Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:37-38
I love God! I love that He, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, listens to me, has a plan for me and loves me! I love how He reveals His knowledge to me. Who am I??
As I was reading Revelation 2, John is writing to the church of Ephesus and he tells them in verse 4 "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love."
WOW! PAUSE! REFLECT! CRY, PERHAPS!?
I began to scripture reference and I was personally left astounded because the Lord was talking directly to me as I read: Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in SINCERITY. Amen. Ephesians 6:24
(All caps for emphasis)
The Wikipedia definition for sincerity is:
the virtue of one who communicates and acts in accordance with their feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and desires.
Crying, again.
Father, forgive me. Forgive me for putting anything or anyone else before you. The Creator of the heavens and the earth, who considered ME and MY sin when you sent your Son... You first loved me.
I LOVINGLY and HUMBLY challenge you to acknowledge who or what you put before God. We may not even realize that we put our spouse, kids, friends, money, our home, our tangible things before our God.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
Lord, it is my wholehearted desire to love You first with all sincerity, as your Word says. I thank you for revealing your Word to me. Help me to see others and love others as you love me, unconditionally. You have promised to never leave me or forsake me and as I think of the very first scripture that changed my life toward Godliness, I rejoice in your truth!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6
Praise God!

I was super emotional, captivated and convicted by Him, when I wrote this. I’m glad you understood where I was in the moment and I’m thankful it encouraged you in some way. Best, Melissa
