Gen 22:14
What's your nickname? You know, the name your closest friends and family know you by. Not your government (name on your Passport) or how they address you at work. The names that if someone drops it, the people at work will probably ask, "Who are you talking to?". Some we love, some we loathe, but these alternative names have followed us for years.
When you've formed a tight bond with a day one friend, a moniker or alias is one way the relationship becomes cemented in place. That synonym for how you're addressed is a colloquialism that is strengthened with time. Someone who hasn't earned the right to address you by those special names will quickly be notified they're out of pocket for unapproved usage.
Well, when we make an effort to construct, use, and deepen our pact with God, He also becomes more familiar to us. His voices, direction, correction all are evident to us like a new language-we become fluent.
When we let Him in during the highs and lows we get comfortable with all His names. He's Jehovah Jireh, Yahweh, El Shaddai, Elohim, and Jehovah Nissi. By intimately exposing our lives in front of Him, He becomes God and more. He knows our every want, desire, fear, and need before we do.
The next time you call on Him, do it like you've known Him forever. He's a friend by many other names you'll be glad who answers to them all. God Bless you today.
