1 Samuel 2:6-7 6 “The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. 7 The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts
I was reading an article months ago on a conept called Bitcoin. I've studied perhaps 50 different opinions on the "currency", but I cannot find a single mine for this new idea of money replacement. Well, there isn't any. Unlike gold or silver, Bitcoin is an online investment tool, which is being picked up by restaurants, coffee shops and sometimes name brand retailers.
I am hesitant to invest in something which has no backing in gold, which underlies monetary systems the world over for 6000 years. Still, there are major players in this currency like Warren Buffett. Should I not follow the lead of one of the world's richest men? Well, frankly, no.
All world currencies fall apart on one thing. The LORD sends poverty and wealth and it is Him I trust. No matter the schemes of mice and men, the Lord of heaven keeps His own.
The dollar could collapse tomorrow. Our present economic model shows many markers which indicate it will. BUT GOD. Our Bible promises that God will take care of us...and there are Christians already living at the poverty line. Does God not care about the poor? Of course He does, that's one reason we are to give!
God humbles the mighty and lifts up the humble, as he's been doing for millenia as mankind bowed the knee.
Lord, our existence depends of your power. We pray that in our lives, we won't lean on the Dollar, Bitcoin, or Krugerands tor survival, but You.
