And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25
My granddaughter Jacklynn always had new things to ask when she came for a visit. At age four climbing upon my lap here was her new question. “Grammy did God really make Gorillas?” The expression on her face revealed she was troubled by this possibility, she knew God was good, and that he is a God of love. She had already heard many stories of my missionary travels, and how God had helped care, and provide for the children of Zimbabwe. The prospect now of our good God making that big, scary gorilla she had seen in a magazine, was too much to comprehend. I answered her question from the Bible, explaining the choice Adam and Eve had to choose the good God had provided over the temptation the serpent suggested. The question did God make and bring sickness, wars, and the tragedy of this word has been asked by many. The answer is clear from Genesis, before the fall of man, before sin entered into the world, all God made was good, even very good. Genesis 1:31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Our Father help us to recognize your goodness that has been given to us through your son Jesus Christ, and choose to follow Him.
