Have you ever entered a bouncy house with a child? I have…reluctantly, I admit. But after so much begging from those longing eyes, I finally gave in. That was about eight years ago when our grandson was about five-years-old.
I observed him with his Daddy and Pop-Pop and cautiously entered the air house that invites one to jump, tumble, fall and giggle a lot. However, within minutes, this Gramma was nauseous.
But I kept up a brave, smiley face as we bumped, slipped and collided in our stocking feet.
When dizziness followed, that was it for me.
Sliding out of the opening, the world tilted a bit confirming that I am not made for this particular kind of ‘fun.’
Yet, I love to bounce. It’s just a different kind of bouncing.
It’s having vitality, energy and a skip in my step that result from a healthy lifestyle and good mental attitude.
But I’m most resilient and have a bounce in my step when my eyes are focused on God not circumstances that often present unwanted challenges to trip me up.
Psalm 121: 1-2 says, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
When we magnify God and see Him for who He is,
we will have a bouncy step." Selah
