2 Corinthians 5:17
The chatter and laughter of little voices at fevered pitch reverberated off the walls of the sanctuary…charging it with youthful, plugged-in energy that lit up the place.
Over the years we took children on ocean voyages, into the jungles, flying high in the sky or into a special kids’ clubhouse and race car rally. The vehicle? Vacation Bible School (VBS).
But had we not been enthusiastic ourselves, we wouldn’t have created the vibrations that energized motion and emotion in them. By our actions and attitudes enthusiasm was released.
Enthusiasm. It means to be possessed by God.
Now that is cool!
I like knowing I belong to God and He belongs to me. I’m his possession, cared for and guided by Him. That’s too marvelous for words.
A gruff little girl with a vocabulary to match once heard in VBS that Jesus loved her. No one had ever told her they loved her. Her eyes and heart opened wide that day to receive the Savior. Her behavior, countenance and desire to learn were transformed.
Like all of us who come to Jesus, she shed the creeping caterpillar and emerged a delicate butterfly! As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Selah
