In these five verses, we have a whole list of the human condition at this time in history. After living the many decades I have, I am saddened and angry that people have chosen to reject God and throw Him out of the public arena, while uplifting all that is sinful, wicked, and ungodly. Our nation, if it does not repent and turn back to God, will, like Sodom, Gomorrah, Nineveh, Babylon, Assyria, and many other heathen nations, ultimately be destroyed. And the church, the body of Christ, sits silently by and lets it happen. This is a severe indictment on the Christian church for its apathetic and uneducated pastors, lackadaisical parishioners, and rejection of solid, biblical teaching for feel-good messages based on the latest best seller, and being more concerned with lunch to follow the message rather than the message preached. It is not yet too late, I believe, for this nation to turn around and once again put God in His rightful place in our society and in our hearts, but it will take all our prayers to Him for this to happen. Has God finally turned His back on us? Only time will tell. In the meantime, live every day for Him and take a stand for Him in the public arena.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
