I used to have lots of fear about lots of things. I allowed Satan to wreak havoc in my life and emotions to the point I was an insomniac and barely functioning on many days. But this passage changed all that. God has NOT given us a fearful spirit; far from it. If we are in Him, we are infused with all that He is and that is power, love, and a sound mind. It is only when we get our eyes off Him and starts fretting over situations and people that are better left with Him that we become fearful and afraid. What does it take to do this? Simply bring all your requests to God in prayer and lay them on His shoulders. He is our refuge and strength, and He will take those concerns on Himself and set us free from that heavy burden He never intended us to bear.
