Deuteronomy 2:7 reads, For the Lord your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing.

Deuteronomy 8:2-3 reads, You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

Even when we are walking through the wilderness–our darkest moments; God is with us. Even when we feel we are surrounded by darkness, He will continue to bless us as He brings light into our forest. If we are able to see the blessings through these moments we will continue to have joy in our lives. Regardless of what season we are in at this very moment, God is with us. He has a plan for us and His plan is far better than we could ever imagine.

Sometimes God may lead us into the wilderness to try our faith, to help us see the darkness in our life that lost His light, to reveal our true heart or to test our commitment to Him. But through it all–darkness or light–He will always be by our sides. He will always provide the spirit to strengthen us through our journey.
