When Christ died on the cross, it was just as if it had been us. He took the awful penalty due for our sins alone, for everyone, and paid the price. And out of this, we who believe in Him are no longer living to and for ourselves; it is Christ, through the Holy Spirit, living out His life through us. This is due only to the faith that God alone provides; we can only live life here in the flesh because of who Jesus is and what He came and did for us. Good news indeed!
