Oh Lord, in this world of so many temptations set up to draw our hearts from You,
Let us not succumb to false loves, but steadfastly be grounded in the Love that's true.
May the troubles we inevitably encounter not wear down our hearts to ineffectiveness ;
Rather may courage be found strong in them because of our awareness of Your protectiveness.
May the righteousness from Christ be found in our hearts, fueled by the Holy Spirit's presence,
So no unholy or unworthy goal will be able to get through our heart's defense.
Fill our hearts with understanding so Your will can guide all that we do.
Keep us diligently following Your path in everything we try and all we pursue.
Give us wisdom to recognize You in every moment of whatever may be coming our way,
Having a heart filled with faith, knowing face-to-face we'll see You one day.
Until that time when we dwell with You, and behold the new Earth in all its perfection,
Let our hearts stay true and grow in love, beating only by the power of Your direction. Amen
