Skydiving is a very intense activity many engage in, enjoying the thrill of freefall from an airplane at over 100 miles an hour. Novices are advised to jump harnessed to an instructor who handles all of the technical parts of the parachute and the jump; in essence, the instructor is in complete control. Few people deviate from the instructions given them because they know their lives are contingent upon following those instructions. This is a good analogy for all who trust in Christ. Sometimes in life, it feels as if we are in freefall; but if we remain harnessed to Christ, he takes care of all of the maneuvers and technical parts of life. Like skydiving, life can be dangerous, so our physical and spiritual well-being are contingent upon following Christ's instructions. If you deviate from these, you do so at your own peril. But just remember, no matter how scary life seems for you, be like the skydiver and enjoy the ride, for Yeshua is in control! Give him your burdens and he will take care of you! He will not permit the godly to slip and fall!
