Psalm 139:11&12
The poetic language of Ecclesiastes 12 in the King James Version of the Bible helps a bitter pill go down, but the paraphrasing of the same chapter in The Living Bible paints a grim picture of old age. The winds of time pound away at our clay and life can become a challenge in the physical realm. Our outward bodies are perishing. The clay is dissolving.
Driving at twilight or at night has become more difficult for me. “Those that look out of the windows” (Ecclesiastes 12:3) are showing wear. I was convinced that my new glasses were the wrong prescription, but was informed that it was nyctalopia or night blindness due to cataracts.
It occurred to me that there will be times when life’s cataracts will cause the lens of my heart to become cloudy and they will obstruct my view of the Light of the world. In the dark times I may lose sight of the Light, but I can rest in the knowledge that He can see me. He always knows where I am for He has perfect night vision.
Psalm 139:11 & 12
“If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”
