Out of breath…his face alive with anticipation…my young son called out, “Mommy, I have a present for you!”
I met him at the door and he handed me a stone shaped like a heart. It cried out “I love you” from the hand of my child expressing his love. Another time at an outdoor market he purchased a shiny rock for my birthday. Both sit on my desk and speak loudly to me of love.
Not too long ago, another child we were just getting to know took colorful stones from his own collection to gift my husband and me...sharing his affection with us.
You might say, there’s no hearing or speaking when it comes to inanimate objects like stones. But, try skipping one across a lake as its movement sings and dances across the water. No voice, you say?
Or how about when Jesus squashed the rebuke of the Pharisees during his triumphal entry into Jerusalem in Luke 19: 40, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, rock formations in the Garden of the Gods, splashing water circling around and over rocks in a stream…no voice?
The Creator’s voice spoke so poetically that day declaring the stones would cry out if the people didn’t.
Love’s creative voice knows no bounds. Selah

“Love’s creative voice knows no bounds.”
