Life’s demands are always abounding, aren’t they? Work, family, outings, chores, and the list goes on. Sometimes we forget in the midst of it all that we have a God who is more than willing and more than able to help us carry those demands. Jesus invites in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Laughter shows that we trust Jesus enough to carry our burden and receive His joy in return.

When we usually think of praise, we probably think of singing, right? But what if I told you that laughter is also a form of praise? Without even realizing it, we try to take control of our lives, and that’s when our lives start to overwhelm us. Yes, there are needs to be met. Yes there are things to be done. But what if we started every day, and then throughout the day, transferring our worries and our burdens onto God, our burden-bearer (Deuteronomy 33:12)? What if we felt free to laugh and be joyful because we trust our God to handle what we cannot?

The next time you’re tempted to worry, ask God to take your burdens, and then laugh! Laughter shows God that you’re trusting Him enough to take a moment to shift your eyes off your worries, transfer your burdens off your shoulders, and enjoy a sweet moment of laughter. While you're busy receiving His joy, He'll be busy taking care of all your worries.
