Genesis18:15
Sarah laughed to herself in unbelief of what she had overheard-her laughter, in essence, questioning God's ability to make the impossible happen. When God called Sarah out in front of Abraham about why she had laughed, she became afraid - after all, she had not laughed or expressed any sentiments out loud - so how could this "visitor" know that she had been questioning God in her heart? It's understandable that her fear would cause her to lie and deny her reaction.
Friend, how often do we do the same thing-question God in our hearts, then feel guilty about it? Nothing is too hard for our Heavenly Father, yet we ascribe limits because we ourselves are limited. But how comforting is it to know that what may seem impossible, even downright laughable, He can make happen in an instant. Like Sarah, we tend to walk by sight, not by faith - we look at the facts of our circumstances and combine that with what we know to be true and come to the conclusion that whatever we are hoping for can never happen. He knows we question and doubt- whether we express it out loud or not - but friend, He's calling you out on it right now. He's calling you to forget what you think you know and trust Him (Proverbs 3:5-6). Our Heavenly Father is mighty in power, and His power and wisdom know no limits.
