One plane I’ve been privileged to ride in, as well as fly (well at least in a simulator) is the C-130. It is one of my favorite planes used by our military. Therefore, it was heartbreaking to hear of the crash of the KC-130 with the loss of 16 heroes from the Marines and Navy. Please know that my heart and prayers go out to the families of these 16 people as well as those who serve with them. May God bless you.
While my heart breaks at the loss, I am comforted by the knowledge that with Jesus Christ, the story of these brave soldiers is not over. Yes, the chapter of their life here on earth is over, but the book of their lives continues as they are now with Jesus Christ, and one day we will all be reunited. What a reunion on that day. However, until that day, let us take comfort in knowing that these brave soldiers are soaring on wings like eagles as they make their way to heaven to be with Jesus Christ.
Something else here. Do you remember the story of Jesus and Lazarus? Jesus was on his way to help a very sick Lazarus, and Lazarus died. Before raising him, Jesus wept. Imagine that—we worship a God who feels loss like we do. Similarly, Jesus is weeping for the people who died in that KC-130 crash, and like he did for Lazarus, so to will he raise them up again.

They will soar on wings like eagles
